Parent Volunteers

Unlocking the Potential of Parents...

Holmesdale’s Parent Volunteer programme provides parents with the opportunity to come into school and offer as little or as much time as they have to support the learning and teaching of all children within school.  We are always on the lookout for new volunteers and in the past parents have:

  • Supported in a variety of subject areas
  • Supported small groups of students
  • Run clubs
  • Developed learning environments
  • Supported the teachers within those areas
  • Assisted in the library
  • Assisted in the examinations office
  • Assisted our administrative team

All these opportunities were created around the skills that the parents themselves could offer, making the whole scheme extremely flexible.

The process begins with a simple form, telling us a little about yourself.  This is followed by a meeting to discuss which areas you think you would like to work in. Once we have received suitable references and the relevant DBS checks have been completed and passed, you are ready to start!

Parent Volunteers are a valued part of our team at Holmesdale – why not join us?
