A Level Sociology
This qualification is 100% exam, Students follow the Eduqas (WJEC) 2-year syllabus and take 3 exams at the end of year 13.
In year 12:
Students study the core theories of Sociological study, such as; Marxism, functionalism, Feminism, internationalism and The New Right. Students then apply this knowledge to certain areas in society. These include Family and Household and Education. Students then conduct their own personal sociological investigations.
In year 13:
students apply their sociological knowledge to different key areas of study. These include; Power and Stratification and Crime and Deviance. Students also conduct their second personal investigation.
