Year 12

Art and Design GCE – Photography AS - Students study two Units of Work in Year 12 both worth 50% of the AS grade/25% of the whole A Level.

  • Unit One is a skills based coursework portfolio, consisting of three/four short projects.
  • Unit Two is an Externally Set Exam Paper set by the AQA Exam Board. A variety of starting points provided and then an individual project.

  • Using the DSLR Camera.
  • Natural/Constructed World Project
  • Studio Lighting/Portraiture Project

Year 13

Art and Design GCE – Photography - A2. At A2 the students study a further two Units of work.

  • Unit Three - Personal Investigation and written essay response, 25% of total A Level/50% of A2
  • Unit Four - Externally Set Exam Paper set by the AQA Exam Board. A variety of starting points to choose from and then an individual project.

Scheme of Work Summary:

  • Personal response supported by a written element of Approximately 1000 – 3000 words,
  • AQA: Externally Set Exam
