Key Stage 4 Personal Development Curriculum Intent

“We aim to create confident individuals, who have a lifelong love of learning by equipping our students with the knowledge and skills needed for their future to achieve their full potential. We identify that we have a responsibility to promote children and young people’s personal and economic well-being, and to offer in depth and age-appropriate health, sex and relationships education. We offer a strong PSCHE curriculum which promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of all students, preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences they will face during their adult life.”

All pupils have access to our curriculum that develops the knowledge and skills to lead successful lives and make a positive contribution to their communities. We deliver a curriculum that has, as its heart, the intention to support pupils to be the best they can possibly be by removing barriers and ensuring social justice. We deliver a balanced curriculum that places equal importance on every aspect of a child’s education, ensuring the development of key qualities including PSHE, Careers Education, and Employability to support future learning and employment. Students are supported throughout the curriculum to develop skills and knowledge needed to obtain their deserved futures. This reflects our core purpose to ensure all students are catered for with an abundance of skills which inspire, nurture and are embedded throughout their time with us.
